Wastewater Reclamation Plant in Antigua

This 080 MGD  Wastewater Reclaimation Plant was as little unusual in that it was constructed entirely from local reinforced masonry.

Typical   of many  treatment facilities in the region, this reclamation plant was constructed in order to produce a high  quality effluent suitable for use in grounds irrigation.  The facility embodies many of the principles learned over the years to produce a reliably  operating facility.  Such features include flow equalization,  design for a high strength, concentrated waste, use of very conservative  unit process sizing criteria.  .

The result is a facility that produces an exceptionally high quality effluent even before filtration, as seen in this photo of the water in the final settling tank as it drains into the effluent launders.
